Castle Assier (Lot)

The two cannons that adorn this lock refer to Galiot de Genouillac, who was the grand master of artillery under François 1st. The mechanism is ingenious because the spring is designed with a double lever to prevent wear and tear: this is clearly the work of a gunsmith.
